Located in the heart of Missouri’s Mark Twain region, Madison County has taken a significant step forward in modernizing its public safety operations. Madison County’s telecommunicators now have next-generation tools to manage emergencies with greater speed, precision, and confidence. With EDGE 9-1-1™ for advanced call handling and EDGE Mapping™ for real-time, GIS-powered location tracking, the county can now better coordinate response efforts for three law enforcement agencies, three fire departments, and one emergency medical service.
A three-position site and the second-largest PSAP in the Mark Twain region, Madison County dispatch operates from a newly constructed center in the basement of the Justice Center in Fredericktown. Bordering St. Francois, Bollinger, and Wayne counties, the center plays a vital role in supporting seamless, multi-agency coordination across the region.
Nestled in the heart of the Ozark Highlands, Madison County spans 498 square miles of rich history, stunning landscapes, and welcoming communities. Established in 1818 and named for President James Madison, it is one of Missouri’s oldest counties—its story shaped by pioneers, miners, and farmers whose hard work built a lasting foundation.
We’re proud to partner with Madison County in delivering faster, smarter, and more connected public safety services to the community.
