Designed to meet the needs of the most demanding PSAPs, the high-availability Spectrum Call Handling solution is a fully redundant, IP-based 9-1-1 Controller and VoIP PBX in one solution. Spectrum contains advanced features, such as “Lockstep” parallel processing, an easy-to-use, graphical user interface (GUI) for 9-1-1, Text-to-911, TDD, IRR and more.

The Spectrum Call Handling system was designed to meet the needs of remote and rural PSAPs. The system offers years of uninterrupted service at a cost-effective price, is NG9-1-1 compliant and provides an integrated workstation for all your dispatch needs. The system also has the ability to support remote or secondary locations as needed.

In addition, the Spectrum Call Handling system has built-in monitoring capabilities of hundreds of system elements and functions. System health notification is provided to Ryzyliant and PSAP personnel as needed (e.g. Room Temperature, Database Storage, RAM utilization, Telco line problems, etc.). In addition, Ryzyliant support can access the integrated system remotely for upgrades, diagnostics and troubleshooting; all with little to no interruption to the operations of the PSAP.

The Spectrum Call Handling solution utilizes a Stratus ftServer as the backbone of the network. The Stratus ftServer is an ideal choice and provides:
  • Built-in redundancy
  • Integrated high-speed memory
  • An interconnected system that boosts system performance, bandwidth and reliability
  • Lockstep hardware technology – Replicated, fault-tolerant hardware components process the same instructions at the same time. In the event of a component malfunction, processing doesn’t miss a beat. The redundant components operate in active-active mode to ensure normal operations without system downtime or data loss.

Design

The user interface for dispatch and call handling was designed using human factors and operational efficiencies, therefore, the system is user-friendly. The more efficient interface allows different 9-1-1 dispatcher applications to be bundled together on a single machine. Integrated functionality also allows for the use of standard windows-based functions in ALI screens – such as copy/paste.

Scalable

Scalability allows the solution to manage increased system demands without impacting processing times or functionality. The system accommodates a substantial increase in call volume and call taking / dispatch positions. The system can also be reconfigured to allow additional hosted PSAPs or agencies. Positions may be configured to be unified Call Taking and Dispatch or Call Taking only, dispatching only and or mapping as required.

Commercial Off-The-Shelf Hardware
The integrated solution is based on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware that complies with the NG9-1-1 FCC, NENA i3 and UL/CSA standards. The solution contains no proprietary hardware elements of any type.
NG9-1-1
The Spectrum Call Handling solution is i3/NG9-1-1 compliant. The solution is IP-based and is designed to accommodate voice, video, text and data. The 360° maintenance program includes any future NG9-1-1 software development and migration to an ESInet, all at no additional cost.
